This may be the “greenest” giant Xmas Tree in town this year!

As 2021 comes to an end, The Mills is celebrating a truly Green Christmas and spreading an eco-friendly message with a Christmas tree in their atrium made from recycled denim swatches that don’t cost the earth. Teaming up with local artist Orange Terry, we have created the giant installation from eye-catching blue and red denim swatches.

Orange Terry collected and recycled the denim swatches from various textile manufacturers in Hong Kong over the past year. After cleaning and sanitising each swatch, he cut and redesigned them based on their unique texture and colour and then brought them together again in a new life as part of the Christmas tree. After being used in the tree, the swatches will become the materials for a workshop after the festive season is over and turned into beautiful fabric vase and card holders to show how, with creativity and imagination, the life cycle of many things can be extended again and again.

After taking photos with our tree, don’t forget you can redeem souvenirs with your spending! From today until 31 Dec, you can even redeem limited souvenirs after shopping! Visitors who spend a designated amount at The Mills can redeem specially designed The Mills A5 folders, a set of 3 WeWeave masking tapes or The Mills tote bag for free while stocks last. For details, please refer to promotional materials at The Mills or contact our concierge.
