The Mills has been an avid advocate of sustainability since its opening: sustainable elements, such as improving health and wellbeing and promoting environmental consciousness, are fused into each year’s festivities. This Chinese New Year, rabbits and tortoises have gathered at the Hall, joyfully walking along a lucky runway under a huge peach blossom to welcome everyone at The Mills. As The Mills’ usual practice of adding a bit of green into festive décor, Good Fortune Patchwork Cookie Ornaments are upcycled from scrap fabrics and spread across the Mills to send blessings to everyone, everywhere. The long-awaited lion dance performance is finally making a grand return, in hopes of bringing The Mills and its visitors a bustling, zestful new year. The Mills and shopfloor tenants have also prepared Lunar New Year offers and special edition gifts for redemption.
The Mills wishes you all good prosperity and fortune in the Year of the Rabbit!
Lion Dance is Returning to The Mills
A festive lion dance performance is taking place at 3p.m. on the Seventh Day of Lunar New Year (28 January 2023, Saturday), at the Hall. Do not miss out on the simple yet symbolic Eye Dotting Ceremony and prepare to be amazed by the traditional Shaolin Poles Dance. The lions will also march around the Mills to ‘pluck the greens’ for prosperity and celebrate the start of a good year with tenants.
