(26th November 2020, Hong Kong)
The Mills is a landmark revitalization project of Nan Fung Group, a destination consisting of a business incubator, experiential retail and a non-profit cultural institution. Since its opening in 2018, The Mills has reinvented itself as a destination for innovation, culture, and learning. Now welcoming its second anniversary, The Mills celebrates with a series of exciting events and happenings that aim to elevate community engagement to a whole new level.
As part of this series, The Mills has created WeWeave, weaving a new kind of social fabric with a variety of contemporary cultural performances and experiences. Each crafted by local artists specifically for the festival, the experiences weave together art, culture and music in a way that incorporates cultural elements directly into the daily lives of Hong Kong people.
Vanessa Cheung, founder of The Mills said: “The Mills is a unique venue full of passion and historical stories. Every visitor contributes new elements and significances to this extraordinary revitalisation project. At the core of WeWeave is the concept of “interaction”. Through our array of activities we would like visitors to enrich and broaden their perspectives of life, weaving new experiences into their daily routines to fashion a more fruitful lifestyle. That’s the crucial purpose of the creative, multidisciplinary space at The Mills. ”
Originally planned to be held at The Mills, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, WeWeave will now be held mostly online on 5 December 2020 (Saturday) to 6 December 2020 (Sunday). An extraordinary line up of activities has been arranged including live streaming performances from popular local singers Eman Lam, Terence Lam and the Serrini. The art & cultural market will also be available online. We hope that everyone can find something to weave creativity into their lives at WeWeave.
