A Giant 6m-diameter Mars installation is making a stunning debut alongside fun, interactive photo spots, inspiring imagination.
Mega Glowing Mr.MARS Installation
The giant Mars installation is designed and constructed to scale based on NASA’s aerial photographs and data of the Martian landscape, showcasing the red surface of Mars along with its towering mountains and deep valleys. Featuring dual LED screens over 60 inches, the installation symbolizes the eyes of a thinking planet. With Mr. Mars’ friendly and humorous gaze, it welcomes visitors while also playing promotional videos for Mars tourism. Through engaging animations, it sparks imagination about life on Mars, inspiring everyone to embark on a journey to the Red Planet right away!
To mark this special occasion, the Mars Tourism Bureau will dispatch its commissioner, Mr.MARS, to Earth via a “Mars Morph Portal”. He engages personally with visitors at The Mills and invite them on a celestial adventure to his planet. Mr.MARS will then transform into the largest glowing Mars installation in Hong Kong – a giant red sphere with a diameter of six meters – suspended in The Hall. Everyone is invited to marvel at this gigantic installation from the cosy camping chairs in The Hall.

An interactive installation transforms yourself into an interstellar species for the Mars-journey, paired with Earth souvenirs for Martian companions to foster connection. The “Mars Avatar Generator,” composed of various displays, will merge your body with different alien lifeforms to determine the most suitable extraterrestrial appearance for your journey to Mars. Don’t forget to take a photo and share your sci-fi look! Each generated form is paired with an Earth souvenir – such as seeds, a recorder, or a camera – serving as a small gift for your Martian companions to foster interaction.
