Upcycled Accessories: French Beaded Embroidery Workshop

The Mills RE-LOVE Festival invites Stephanie from “Little Dream Embriodery” to lead a hands-on workshop using Broderie Perlée (French Beaded Embroidery), working with surplus beads from fashion brand ALICE + OLIVIA to redesign and handcraft unique beaded jewellery, putting the aesthetics of upcycling into practice 

What is Broderie Perlée?
Broderie Perlée (French Beaded Embroidery) is a haute couture embroidery craft originating from France. It combines hand stitching and Lunéville hook embroidery techniques to sew beads, sequins, pearls, and other materials onto fabric or accessories, creating richly textured, three-dimensional patterns.

Workshop Details
Each participant will take home 1 handcrafted piece of beaded jewellery: ring or earring (choose one)

The techniques learned can be applied at home to transform old clothing, bags, shoes, and other upcycling projects, making beaded embroidery a sustainable addition to everyday creativity
