MILL6 Foundation’s Artist-in-Residence Programme is part of our pre-opening programmes that invites overseas artists in all disciplines and at all stages of practice to integrate textile arts, community engagements and different cultures up to three months. We are so excited to welcome Mariana Hahn (b. 1985, Berlin), the first overseas artist to join the programme. Having studied Theatre Studies in Berlin and graduated with a Fine Art Degree at Central Saint Martins in London, Hahn’s current research is on silk, a delicate material from ancient China, as a creative medium. She explores how the role and definition of silk transform in different civilisations over time.
